Windows 10

   UPDATE:

April 28, 2016
(I recommend it! )
WAIT A WHILE!

STILL NOT READY  FOR PRIME TIME!

It has interminable delays on basic operations - pausing 5 - 15 seconds or more before acting on any given command! The screen freezes with the silly little rotating thingy before deciding to do anything.
Really sorry I loaded it!
I even loaded Win 7 on an old drive, and am switching back
on my main computer.

I would give it 6 months to a year to let all the other
VOLUNTEERS  work the bugs out.  Guess I shoulda known!
Momma always said, "If it's free, it's too good to be true!"

IF YOU WANT TO TRY IT, BE SURE TO MAKE A COMPLETE BACKUP BEFORE YOU DO!

LATEST UPDATE CAUSING TROUBLE
Installing today's update has caused problems.  My screen is flashing about every 30 seconds after the update.  Everything appears normal on-screen until it flashes, still normal after the flash.

LATER:  After doing a power-down reboot, the system came up working!  Go figure!
Don't know why the reboot after the install didn't fix it.

TRULY AGGRAVATING!
NOTHING I have tried has worked to help with the lockups.  I get so tired of seeing (not responding) after I enter a search or try to run something.  I still can find no cause for them - nothing shows in any of the explorers I have tried.  All you can do is WAIT until it decides to work again!  I have installed it on 2 systems, and am sorry I did!

WINDOWS 10 HAS SLOWED TO A CRAWL!
It is locking/pausing for anywhere from 5 seconds to a minute or more for no apparent reason that I can find.  Using  Process Hacker or Process Explorer, I can not find the reason for the lock-ups!
 VERY FRUSTRATING!

I finally decided to try the Windows 10 UPGRADE on my laptop which had Win 7 installed on it.  The upgrade went smoothly, though it took almost 5 hours for it to complete!  No problems were encountered, and - so far - it is  running well.  I have had no software compatibility issues - so far!

HOWEVER,  I would CAUTION you to be SURE to carefully read the closing options while loading!

IF YOU AREN'T CAREFUL, YOU WILL OPEN YOURSELF UP TO ALLOWING THE WORLD ACCESS TO YOUR COMPUTER!

The defaults allow all kinds of stuff to have access to your account! Personally, I want full control over those I allow to 'invade' my virtual world!
When all is said and done, I am happy with the results so far.  Microsoft did a good job of getting this update right.  And making it FREE (If you have Win 7 or higher!) is going to endear them to LOTS of people!

  UPDATE: Win 10

August 10, 2015
When I went to set up to install the update on my computer at my church, the option to set a time to begin the update DID NOT WORK!  I set it up to begin at 2PM, which would have been after the morning services.  But as soon as I hit the enter key, IT BEGAN INSTALLING IMMEDIATELY!

The install went a lot faster than on my laptop - about 2 hours.  Same set of options at the end of the install.  Once again, I caution you to read them ALL, and make sure you don't let the world have the ability to invade your computer!

The one thing I have discovered that I didn't like is the layout for the new version of "FILE EXPLORER".  But if you go to "View" on the option bar at the top of the window, you can make it closely resemble the old Win7 version.

I will be installing WIN 10 on a 2nd computer at home today.

Oh yes.  One other thing I have found is that it takes A LOT LONGER TO POWER DOWN!  Not sure why.
